General Practice Registrar.
Magas completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Melbourne in 2010, and then undertook an internship at Peninsula Health. He began his residency at Western Health where he remained from 2012 -2016 training to become a physician. He completed rotations including general medicine, aged care, intensive care, neurology, cardiology, and respiratory medicine.
He also experienced 18 months working in a private high dependency and coronary care unit, while at the same time working as a locum in various hospitals around Victoria, NSW and QLD. Subsequently deciding to retrain in General Practice, he returned to Peninsula Health to undertake a year of emergency medicine and paediatrics. He spent the last 18 months working in GP practices in Adelaide.
His interests outside work have seen him spending time with family and working for the community, in particular the Ethiopian community where he has been involved in youth work tutoring mathematics and chemistry. He doesn’t mind a soccer game on the odd occasion having once been a keen player.
